What We Expect To See in Your Pitch

You don’t need slides. You can use whatever medium you want. Sock puppets are our favorite, but you can use PowerPoint – And here’s the Pitch Template to help get you started.

  • Slide 1: Who you are, what you do, how do we contact you
  • Slide 2: Problem & your solution to said problem
  • Slide 3: How are you going to make money solving said problem
  • Slide 4: Your current state
  • Slide 5: Your ask
What’s it like to pitch

This is a laid back event. There is a wide range of people in the audience.

The goal for our events is pretty simple:

We want you to make a connection with someone who can help you get past the next roadblock in your business idea.

Don’t think of this as a one and done activity for you. This is your chance to let the community know what you are trying to do and who you are. After you pitch and get some feedback, you should come back to the next event and the event after that.

Build your network.

People will remember your pitch, people will ask about how it is going. They will have time to think about ways to help you or come accross someone in their other networks that might be able to help. It is very rare that someone is going to open up their checkbook after hearing a 5 min pitch about your business. Investors invest in people they trust and trust takes time to build. Mentors mentor people who are in it for the long haul. Attracting talent to your start-up requires both – trust and proof that you are going to see this to an end.
